Eric Bederman is the chief operating and compliance officer for Bernardi Securities. He directs the financial services operations and supervises the compliance procedures. Eric has been with Bernardi since 1999 and a manager in the securities industry since 1990. He is active in industry affairs and is a current member of the FINRA Continuing Education Committee. Eric is also a past member of the FINRA Small Firm Advisory Board (SFAB). He has been an active volunteer with Literacy Chicago and the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs.

Prior to Bernardi Securities, Eric served as national operations officer for Ernst & Young’s Investment Advisory Services unit and as Director of Operations for a regional investment advisor and broker/dealer. He holds a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.B.A. from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management-Chicago.

 

Michelle Bernardi Landis

Michelle Bernardi Landis is the Senior Vice President and Corporate Secretary for Bernardi Securities. A principal of the firm, Michelle has been with Bernardi since 1995 and has extensive fixed income, underwriting and trading experience. She has been in the municipal bond business for over 17 years.  Michelle holds the Ser. 7 & 63 FINRA licenses.  

Prior to Bernardi, Michelle worked at Dain Bosworth Inc. She is a graduate of Lawrence University and holds a B.S.N. from the Rush College of Nursing. She is a past board member of Adoptive Families Today.   

 

Robert Biondi

Robert Biondi is a senior vice president for Bernardi Securities. A principal of the firm, Bob has been with Bernardi since 1985 and has over 35 years of experience in the municipal bond business.

Bob is a member of the Union League Club of Chicago, an Arbitrator for FINRA, a member of Societa Modenese and served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Rolling Green Country Club. He is also a former member of the Western Illinois University Foundation Board.

Prior to Bernardi, Bob worked in sales for Columbian Securities, Inc. He holds a B.A. in business and a minor in accounting from Western Illinois University.

 

Ronald P. Bernardi is the President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Compliance Officer of Bernardi Securities, Inc., a leading municipal bond boutique. Ron also oversees Bernardi Asset Management, LLC., a subsidiary of Bernardi Securities, Inc.  The two organizations combined manage over $1.1 billion in customer bond assets. He has more than 35 years of experience and specialization in the municipal bond industry, ranging from credit research and portfolio management to underwriting and trading.

Ron currently serves on the Board of Directors of Bond Dealers of America (BDA) and as Co-Chair of its Municipal Fixed Income Committee. In June 2017, Ron was elected to serve as an industry representative on FINRA’s Fixed Income Committee, which regularly meets in Washington D.C. He currently serves on the technical advisory committee of the non-partisan Municipal Bonds for America coalition. Ron served on Senator Mark Kirk’s three-member Sovereign Debt Advisory Board and contributed to the Report on Illinois Debt. Ron has served as an advisory committee member of the Illinois Capital Development Board, which published a report on Illinois school districts. Mr. Bernardi has published extensively on the municipal bond market, including the white papers Tax-Exempt Municipal Bonds: The Case for an Efficient, Low‐Cost, Job‐Creating Tax Expenditure and REPEALING TAX-EXEMPTION – Impact on Small and Medium sized Communities.

Prior to Bernardi Securities, Ron worked in sales for Columbian Securities, Inc. He earned a B.A. in economics, cum laude, from Bucknell University. Ron holds series 7, 24, 27, 53 and 63 FINRA licenses. 

Ron is a former board member and treasurer of the Union League Club of Chicago, current trustee of the ULC Foundation for Boys & Girls Clubs, and served as the founding chairman of the Lake Forest Illinois High School Foundation.

 

Edward Bernardi, Chairman

Edward Bernardi has been in the municipal bond industry for over 50 years. Ed co-founded Columbian Securities, Inc. in Chicago in 1961, serving as president and CEO until 1984 when he sold his interest and founded Bernardi Securities, Inc.    

Ed is a former board member and president of the Union League Club of Chicago, past chairman of the Lake Forest Park District, past president and life trustee of the ULC Boys & Girls Foundation. He has also been an officer and board member of numerous municipal bond industry associations.

Ed has written extensively on municipal bond topics. Most recently he has published “Kill the Devil Twice” a sequel to his first work of fiction entitled “The Reluctant Patriot.”
